Classes take place in Dan & Molly's Pub on week nights during the winter & spring. Excellent tuition is available for all levels & ages in tin whistle, flute, singing, button accordion, concertina, bodhran, banjo, guitar & set dancing.


Birr CCE

We are always delighted to welcome new members.

Music classes are held every Monday evening in the County Arms Hotel, Birr from 6:30 - 9pm. At present, the classes cater for junior members in tin whistle & button accordion.

Dance classes are held every Thursday evening at 8:30pm in Kelly's Pub, Green St, Birr & cover both set dancing & sean-nós dancing. Newcomers are welcome. Our membership is open to all. Whether you are a musician, a singer, a dancer or simply someone who is interesting in fostering our musical heritage you will find a welcome in our branch. for info on our monthly sessions & activities.

Set dancing classes are also held in the Boys School on Thursday night between 8.30 and 10pm. There is also a monthly session in O'Donoghues Lounge on the third Thursday of every month. All musicians and singers are very welcome.

For information on 2015/2016 classes: at Deirdre at 086 0886648 -. Classes take place every Friday night in Scoil Charthaigh Naofa, Newtown, Rahan and run from 5pm to 8pm. Fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, whistle, flute, concertina, accordion, keyboard and step dancing are all catered for. Some instruments are available to hire subject to availability. Set dancing classes also take place every Thursday night in the Shamrocks GAA rooms Tullybeg, running from 8:30pm to 10:30pm. All are welcome.

West Offaly Comhaltas

They cost E50 (7 classes) and there are family discounts - a second family member will get 7 classes at E30 and a third family member at E20. New students are asked to come early on the first night to register. Classes include - button accordion, banjo, guitar, whistle, flute, bodhran, piano, fiddle and singing. New members always welcome!

Monthly sessions on the last Sunday of every month in the Crank House, Banagher from 5 to 7pm. All welcome.
